State of the League: the dynasty window is wide open, and nobody wants to admit it
Motion Man holds the belt. Everyone else holds a spreadsheet and a grudge. Our preseason read on all twelve rooms before a single snap of 2026.
Ronnie Harris walks into 2026 holding two of the last five banners, and he has spent the offseason acting like the accomplishment was a rounding error. Motion Man's titles in 2021 and 2025 were not flukes of bracket luck — they were Decembers of the right lineup on the right week, including last year's 7-7 run that ended Ralphs' historic 14-0 season. The room has decided to treat the whole thing as luck anyway. That is the tension the Gazette will be covering all season.
The counterweight remains 3RINGZ PAPITO FC. W. Greiner owns three of the eight banners hanging in this league (2018, 2019, 2023) and remains the only man here with a genuine claim to the word dynasty in the plural. His roster construction has always been the same bet: pay for the top of the board, live with the back of it. It has won more than it has lost.
Two rings in five years buys a man silence in most leagues. In this one it bought him eleven enemies.
Beneath the two-headed monster sits a middle class that is quietly better than its record suggests. TEAM ROCKET (2024) and REC It Ralphs! (2020) both have hardware and both have spent recent offseasons acquiring picks rather than names. Redeem Team, the 2022 champion, has been the most patient franchise in the building — and patience, in a dynasty format, is indistinguishable from a plan until it pays.
Then there is Booz Cruz. Eight seasons, zero titles, and more trade proposals sent than any two owners combined. Ikenna Nwafor's franchise is the great unresolved storyline of A Gentlemen's Dynasty. He has never had the worst roster in this league. He has also never had the best one in the second week of December.
Everyone is 0-0. That will be true for exactly one more week, and then the standings page starts telling the truth about all of this.
